Himalayan Salt Therapy

More than 100 years ago, European monks noticed that while treating respiratory issues, patients healed much faster when they were being treated in natural salt caves. In the 1840's, a Polish doctor had noticed that all of his patients who worked in the salt mines had extremely healthy respiratory systems, and began to catch on that the salt was what was keeping them so healthy. Soon after, salt therapy became a popular treatment for many ailments. Halotherapy works to recreate the environment of natural salt caves in order to provide you with the same health benefits available inside of a natural salt cave.

Salt is naturally anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, and anti-fungal. This alone makes salt therapy very beneficial for a multitude of ailments and conditions. Dry salt is super absorbent and acts like a sponge, attracting foreign substances along its path through the respiratory tract. The dry salt can be imagined to behave like a toothbrush that cleans through the respiratory system, removing buildup of foreign elements that cause various respiratory ailments and conditions. Clean lungs are healthy lungs.

Scientific research shows that salt has a positive affect on the protective properties of our skin. This is important since the skin is the largest organ of the human body. It aids in excretion of waste, temperature regulation, and preventing dehydration.

While not meant as an alternative to traditional treatments or medical attention, Halotherapy is known to be beneficial for a multitude of conditions. It is known to have a positive affect on asthma, allergies, tonsillitis, eczema, psoriasis, acne, COPD, cystic fibrosis, fatigue, and rheumatoid arthritis.

In our Himalayan salt cave, the floors are covered with over a thousand pounds of Himalayan pink salt. Similar to sand at the beach, you are free to sit and relax, play with the salt, or bury your and feet. The detoxifying nature of the salt will work regardless of what you are doing.

In addition to Himalayan salt on our floors, we also use pods that disperse the Himalayan salt into the air, filling the cave with a salty taste and smell. While breathing normally inside the cave, you are receiving all of the benefits that Halotherapy has to offer.
